    That's the stuff. 1/2" = 1200 lbs, 5/8" = 1800 lbs.

That's it. When I was in the phone industry there would be 100's of ft in the dumpster. If it has been used it will need to be washed to removed the pulling lube. There is a learning curve in learning how to tie it. Tied right it will lock, wrong and it will slip.

I have some, I may need more. What are the more common uses for it in Hammock Land.

We call it Jim-Rope in honor of a friend that used to get it for us....he is no longer with us

Really?!?! No extra charge? Cool beans. Or should I say, rotten meat?

Seriously, JS. That's super nice of you. What lengths do you have access to? Enough to make some five- or six-foot straps? What widths? Wide enough to protect the trees? What cuts the lube? Dish soap? Laundry detergent? Kerosene?!?!

Lube washes out with water, but a little laundry detergent helps. Right now my bundle is sitting in the rain, so it will have to dry out before I can detangle and ship it. Lube is great stuff... it degrades and smells like urine when wet!

I do not recommend it for tree straps except for children. It is only 5/8" wide...

My son is saving money for a scout adventure in 2014... you might see him here selling boxes of mule tape in the future, but for now I cannot see me profiting from something I get for free...

Yes, mule tape has 1001 uses. I don't buy rope anymore...

I think he should wash the mule tape and start selling (or excepting donations for) this batch to us. We get "cleaner" tape while he gets cash and doesn't lose customers to dad's giveaways (and dad doesn't have to untangle it).

So, does it make good ridge lines?
    For tarp & hammock?
