I'm happy to read this thread. I ordered the adjustable webbing because I'm still new to all this and it seemed easier. It's nice to know that not everyone will look down on my usage of them.

I've been hiking with a few too many UL guys...

I still use them on my BB. I have used whoopies before and have them on other hammocks but I like the ease of set up with just webbing. I did recenlt swap the WB cinch buckles for the ones Dutch sell. Even though Dutch's are a little heavier, they are easier to adjust than the stock WB buckles.

I'm thinking about doing the same thing on my RR. The WB buckles definitely won't slip on their own, but they're pretty difficult to adjust if there is any load on them. I realize they are more secure and don't require a back-up knot to prevent slipping, but I definitely prefer the Dutch buckles' ease of adjusting, even if I have to add a slippery half hitch as a back-up.

Dutch's cinch buckles don't require a back up hitch. They are just as secure as the WB's buckles without it.

Dutch is hoping to have a Ti version of his cinch buckles out sometime this spring. Depending on the cost I will be buying several sets
