    3/4 or full UQ

Hi everyone. I am new to hammock camping and am trying to choose an UQ. I am getting the WBBB so I am thinking about the 3 season Yeti that is made for it but am wondering if a 3/4 is the way to go. I never slept in a hammock so I guess my main question is would a 3/4 be warm enough. I am trying to pack light using a ULA Circuit pack so am woried about bulk and weight. Would a full UQ be much larger to pack.

the main difference in warmth is that with a 3/4 quilt you will also need a pad to insulate your feet. A small sit pad or a piece of reflectix works. It is a trade off the 3/4 quilt weighs less but you need the extra pad.

3/4's work great in late spring thru early fall for me but in winter nothing beats a FL.

i went with full length just because i dont want to have to fiddle with a pad. im not much of gram counter, so the weight savings of the 3/4 didnt really matter to me.

On a year around basis it is hard to beat a full length UQ...May be a few more oz... but you'll always be fully comfortable.

I'm a full pad only kind of guy... My toes are the first things to get cold... So I wanted to make sure my feet stayed warm...

We would be one step closer to world peace, if everyone slept in a hammock..

if your pad is your pack frame, you're not wasting any effort with added weight. so a 3/4 quilt at that point is the right choice.
i dont recall what ULA uses for a pad, i have been using a 10x20 scored CCF pad that opens to 20x20 and for a shortie quilt, that does triple-duty (quadruple if you consider a windbreak for alcohol stoves)

I have gone to a 66" quilt which is almost full lenth when you figure only your head is not covered, I'm 6'. I slide either some reflectix or a section of WW blue pad I carry to sit on for my feet. I assume if you were a side sleeper and curled up a bit it would be a FL quilt which is how my grandson sleeps. I guess I just like a shorter quilt, probably because I started with a 2/3 quilt and have stayed with it. It's probably like new $500.00 drivers, I don't try each new one that comes out because I'd have to own one then.
