My wife and kids decided last minute to visit family in Florida so looking to do a quick overnighter this Friday night. I'm up for anywhere in the middle Tennessee/Cumberland plateau area. Anyone interested?

I wish I were available.

Life is always better when your "hanging" out with friends.
The Hidden Passage trail in Pickett State park is another great hike. If I can talk my eldest son into going, I could go. I'll let you know.

That trail looks great. I've been wanting to get out to the Big South Fork area, but haven't had a chance to.
If you do have to go alone, Montgomery Bell State Park is great. A 10 or 12-mile loop that crosses the main park road in the middle. Sort of a figure-8. So, you're never far from bailing out or help should you need. Plus, while the trail is never crowded, there are folks on it. You do have to camp at one of the three shelters and make reservations (can do by phone), though you can hammock hang at any of them.
Long Hunter SP is close and also not so remote. It's an in-and-out hike with two campsites. Requires registering at the trail head.

That's cool. Anybody else want to go on a last minute hike and hang?
Oh so close - Saturday night at Montgomery Bell SP you would see a patrol of hanging Scouts!
