I managed to get out for a couple of days over the weekend, we had a good dump of snow in the week leading up to it so we loaded the pulks into the van and headed north to the Cairngorms.

A band of low pressure has swept over the UK and we've had a 20*c swing in temperature bringing rain and strong winds. The first day of the trip was stunning in the sunshine, the next few days were hard going in heavy slush and wet snow. Our original plan was scrapped after day one and we kind of played it by ear dodging the worst of the winds after that, it was great to get the snowshoes on and haul the pulks about for a few days.

Some pics, I didn't take many due to the weather ..

Heading out on morning one

Plenty of snow down

Dug in for night two

Pete's DIY outfit

We dug a snow kitchen to dodge the winds that came in and provide some shelter for the charcoal burner
