I'm eyeing this for some time now. A question on the material: what is the difference in feel of 1.7 sl and 1.1 dl? Could you say that the 1.1 combines the best of two worlds with weight range, but softer and smoother fabric? Or is that over-thinking it and the main difference is the ability to shove a pad in between?

I have a regular WBBB in 1.1 dl, which is swe-eet, but at 186 cm I'm eyeing this (and also because it's several months since I last bought some hammock camping gear ).

I'm 6'7 and I choose the WB XLC for its added length as well. I went with the 1.1 double layer option.

Now I just have to wait for the package to arrive

I have owned both the 1.7 and 1.1 from Warbonnet, I much prefer the 1.1. It feels a lot better to me. The 1.7 is really strong, but a little more "coarse" feeling. Not uncomfortable, just not as nice as the 1.1.

As far as SL vs. DL, I don't know why anyone would want a SL hammock. It seems that you would always want the option to supplement a pad if needed. But, that's just me...

That's kind of what I thought. It settles it then. Thanks!

Very happy with my WBBB DL 1.7, but at 6'4" it sound like this XLC may be even better!

    JRR,

If you look at the weight difference between a comparable BB and Traveler, it is almost nothing, so I would doubt that the bug net saves much weight. The cover may be a little bit, but i cant imagine that it is much at all. Maybe an oz or two.

Ok, it's a while since I read this thread so I don't know if it has been posted by others in the past, but I had a chance to hang two of them next to each other last week - just thought to share the picture (again! :-D ):

    Beautiful, aren't they?

+1,000,000 this is a great idea! Especially for the shorter hangers that want a removable net/overcover on a lighter/smaller hammock.
