This set-up may cause me give up my Elephant Trunks. I think I will have to try this.

Thinking outside the box, why make the TI toggle a tube. It can easily be flat bar with a hole in the center of it. With a metal you loose the friction you have with wood unless you sandblast it to rough it up a little. Im thinking a 3" flat peice maybe with flared out ends to keep the loop from sliding off.

Looks like I'll be taking apart the hammock suspension again. Folks keep coming up with new things for me to try.

I think the round shape of the dowel is necessary to insure that the overlapping cords are pressing against each other and the dowel to achieve the friction needed.
