there is the Johnathon Dickinson State Park in Hobe Sound which has cabins apparently and primitive campsites (http://www.floridastateparks.org/jon...ivities.cfm#14) or you can also try the JW Corbett Wildlife Management Area (http://myfwc.com/viewing/recreation/wmas/lead/jw-corbett/recreation/) not sure about the second one with hammocks but the first is a state park so it should be under the hammock trial Florida is doing im sure there are a few more as well
Dupuis Reserve in far western Martin County (just a couple miles north of the Palm Beach County line, about an hour's drive from WPB) has primitive hike-in and car camping and many miles of hiking trails. I've hiked there many times but not camped. There are also some places in Okeechobee, I think, but no personal experience.
I can second Dupuis WMA. The place has awesome trails and primitive camp sites on the property. Matter of fact might go back soon!
Let me know when your going , looking to find someone , appears you are prior military, I am also . Fergman5112
