Any weather testing yet? We're all curious to see how it holds up.

The ink is slightly coming off on my hands now when tested, just a little ,but noticable. Long periods in a stuff sack results in no sticking together at all.
The rain doesnt seem to take it off either.
I would let me be the lab rat on this one for a while longer to get better test results before doing the same on your tarp.
So far im not disapointed in it at all, people walk right by me when only a short distance away.
I asked a person that hiked by ,hey can you see this from over there, she hiked away as fast as she could. Dont know what she thought I was trying to show her,but by the look and the pace of departure I can probably guess.
The part that is coming off slightly is dry, but does dirty the hands a little. This does not bother me though.

Thanks for the update hairbear. Sounds like there could be an issue with adhesion. Did you clean/prime the cuben before applying the marker? Can you tell if the ink is coming off of the thin vs thickly applied areas? Keep us posted.

The spec sheet for that material says it resists staining almost 100%. Mercurochrome and one other substance can color it but only slightly.

It must be laminated under tremendous heat and pressure to seal that well.

It seems to be coming off where the bold black marks are . The only time that I notice it is when im twisting it up to get it in the skins. The material that is on my hands comes off with sanitizer,so its not going back to a liquid state just crumbling a little. The crinkle factor is what makes it happen. If not for whats on my hands it would go unnoticed in the pattern.

Sounds like the thinner the ink, the less likely it is to come off. The heavier/thicker ink marks have enough internal cohesion to get flaked off as the fabric crinkles. The thin ink acts as smaller particles resisting the flaking.

I think you nailed it. The thinner ink seems more flexable to me,and its the black thats on my hands. The black was the sharpie ink the rest was marksalot, maybe there is a variance in the ink.

You're trying to out think it. I recommend contacting any number of southern California or otherwise graffiti artists. Their ink never ever seems to go away!
