I'm like them for deployment, but I bring along the sack so if it's soaking, it won't get the rest of the gear wet.

I use my HH SnakeSkin for my tarp only. Once the SS is over the tarp I remove it from the trees, fold it in half and roll it up and throw it in it's sack. It's actually more compact this way than if I put it straight in the stuff sack.

snakeskin works best for a tarp. on the trail the whole hammock gets stuffed with tq&uq/ss attached and stuffed either into the backpack or a separate stuffbag. no sense in having to pack and unpack and "build out" the components every time i set it up. that's a hassle when you've got to deal with the HH tarp+tq+hammock+undercover+underpad+spaceblanket+o vercover going.

recently i got WL's Lazy Slug Tube, which is the best of both approaches. yesterday i bought the new WL sock, which i suppose means the LST will be deployed on another unit in my fleet.

Had snakeskins on my old HH Exped, they worked okay but I prefer the softness of a good sized stuff sack for packing.

Might try them again sometime though

I've been told that stuffing cuben fiber is a bad way to go, but that stuffing sil is fine. I like an organized pack and something that looks the same every time. I roll my tarp up small and tight and then slid a narrow snake skin over the whole thing (one from both ends), I then fold the tarp gently in half and then wrap the tarp around itself. It fits perfectly anywhere I need to put it and it is well organized. I'm sure you could do something similar with folding and sticking it in a pouch, but I currently like DIY narrow snake skins.
