You could put a head hole in the middle and make it like a jrb quilt you can wear.

Do you mean a hole where the top joins to the bottom? That should be pretty easy...just separate the velcro and stick your head through. Not a bad idea...I may try it when I get home and see how it does.

Maybe if you removed the zippers from the side (hand) pockets and used them on the pits you could form a seal and use as a vest and a top/under quilt?

Just finished My JCP_Puffer Jacket TQ

I Used 2 3XLT Jackets and left all the pockets intact i think a Hot water Naglene will fit nicely in each inside pocket for added warmth

It Came out better than I expected and I used one of the stuff sacks as my New Hammock Bishop Bag
I just added a grommet on the bottom and Voila! a New Bishop Bag

I think the TQ took me about 6hrs. and the Bishop Bag 2 Mins. (HaHA)

JCP Puffers a Great DIY resource

I should have Bought 5 More

Now to Get a Test Hang in after I complete The Puffer UQ

Probably 8hrs work for that though still deciding on what method to use

since there is so many great ideas on the forums

    Thanks everyone for your Input

I just bought a few variations of the jacket, they are out of 4XL in any color so I bought 2 3XLT blue, an orange 3XL and 2 blue 3XL's, I plan on making a vest with removable sleeves... we'll see.

I haven't been able to determine the fill on the jacket, but I might make an UQ and a TQ for at least lightweight summer fun.. who knows, now the wait is on...

    edit: for those wondering;
    they are $32 each.
    650 goosedown fill
I can return them if they blow

We love ours...just finished another blue one using the same pattern. if you don't like them you can likely find several people on HF that would like to buy them from you. btw they are $14 here.

Not sure yet...obviously not as good as a baffled quilt. I will post findings soon when I can test the setup.
