Well, that's...less than nice. I hope those responsible are found and brought before a court for cruelty to animals, at a minimum.
I hope Tala feels better soon!

My solution involves baling wire, sandpaper, and bleach.
Wow, that is horrible. I hope Tala gets better soon.

PS: I think Tala has become the HF mascot. lol
Hey there hanger friends,
I wanted to give everyone an update on The wolf and the trip.
She is doing much better and it's great to see her smiling and walking normal (less wobbly). We were going to head up Saturday, however we are supposed to get a nasty storm on Sunday. So, instead we will continue the hike sunrise, Monday morning.
I have already contacted quite a few people and the word has been spread. As far as I know, the DNR has hiked in and removed the deer carcasses from the trail and if I see anymore during the hike, to report them immediately. I am going to carry some blaze orange tape with me to mark the trail in case I do.
Trust me, no one is more upset over the anti-freeze issue than I am. If it wasn't for our dedication to having a successful adventure, I would be like Liam Neeson in "Taken" and find those people. But, let's focus on the positive things about this little walk in the woods and if anyone has any questions comments regarding the deer/poison, please feel free to e-mail me and I would be more than happy to share any details.
The SPOT has been weird out there and I can only assume it's because of the cold. I am going to post updates everyday on how the trip is going on Facebook because that's pretty much the main place I post things, but, if any of my FB friends would like to share that on here, that would be great.
The trip itself hasn't been to difficult so far and the cold isn't an issue. That will change when we hit the hardest section of the trail (probably on Weds) I wouldn't change any of my gear and everything has been working fantastic. A big shout out to Hammockgear.com for keeping me warm, especially on a night at -19f.
Thanks to everyone for the support. Honestly, there are times it can get tough out there and thinking about all the positive support I get from people makes the long nights more bearable. I thank you all for that. I really am grateful.
Fronkey and Tala

We would be one step closer to world peace, if everyone slept in a hammock..
Hey Fronkey, glad to hear the pup is feeling better. I think your FB posts would be a reason for me to check FB more than once a week. I searched for Fronkey and your name from the article and didn't find you. What is the best way to find you on FB?

Good to hear Fronkey, I'm glad to here Tala is okay.

What a relief! Still, make sure Tala is 100% before you hit the trail again. Gotta keep these things in perspective. This is just one trip. You and Tala have many years together ahead (but never enough, I know.)
