Gotta say that looks like a much finer way of spending the time than what's happening out this way!!

I'd much rather be doing what Greenman's doing than be watching the Superbowl...

Mountains have a dreamy way
Of folding up a noisy day
In quiet covers, cool and gray.

Surely, God could have made a better way to sleep.
Surely, God never did.
Where abouts on the Selway? You don't often hear anyone mention the Selway. It's considered to be one of the most remote and protected areas in the lower 48.
We are now ready to start our way down the Great Unknown. We are three quarters of a mile in the depth of the earth. We have an unknown distance yet to run, an unknow river yet to explore. What falls there are, we know not; what rocks beset the channel, we know not; what walls rise over the river, we know not. Ah, well! We may conjecture many things. The men talk as cheerfully as ever; jests are bandied about freely this morning; but to me the cheer is somber and the jests are ghastly. Powell 1869
I am camping up by the Selway Falls..... This is one of the most beautiful and peaceful places on earth......
That is an incredible place. I rafted it last summer. Selway Falls was just below our take-out (for obvious reasons.) The put in was 45 mi up river and about 7 hours by car. It's considered to be one of the most isolated areas in the lower 48. Nothing but a hiking trail along the river, for 45 mi. I also enjoyed stopping at Three Rivers on the way out.
