With Paul, I am amazed at the absent consideration of basic engineering and physics in the visualization. Calculate the tension on all parts at the illustrated near-horizontal hang angle. Put an 800lb 4-person load in, and I'd estimate one-ton stresses and so need for 15,000+ lb ropes and fasteners.
