I purchased a set of the new carabiners earlier this year. They are less than an ounce total and they have held up very well. Both are rated for 400lbs.

    ENO Biners

+1 on replacing them...I like camp usa, black diamond or metolius biners..Much sturdier!! Save the eno aluminums for hanging your pack or food bag.

Mine failed yesterday. They pretty much said I used them wrong by not allowing them to clip closed (they were closed and correctly being used) and said they would send me a new set of biners. I told them that simply will not do.

I trust my amsteel soft shackles. Almost as fast as biners, not worried about failing. And very light...

Do the new biners now ( in 2014) come as standard on all ENO hammocks, or do you have to upgrade yourself?

    Thansk for the help.

If you order straight from the site you will get the new 'biners. If you buy in a store, look before you buy because no on knows how long that stock sat on the shelf.

I advocate buying inexpensive climbing rated 'biners personally.

I have 2 singlenests with the new biners on them. I haven't the least bit of flex in them. I'm satisfied with them. But, I guess, only time will tell. I've only used them half a dozen times so far. And I'm 5'10" 275lbs.

    Step one: throw away biners

Step two: convert to whoopie slings or cinch buckles.

In fact, warbonnet sells amazing cinch buckes that do not require a back-up know.
