Thumbs up Blackbird! Initial impressions and ?s...

    *** Pictures on page 2 ***

    Wow!
    Awesome!
    Spectacular!
    Quality workmanship!
    Comfortable!

The webbing and triangle "rings" are the cat's meow, the footbox is the bee's knees, love the double 1.7 bottom, and the storage shelf is way cool. Haven't been able to keep my wife or son out of it long enough to get a nap!

Brandon - thanks again! Unbelievable product, and I'll say it again: when you go public on Wall Street...I want in on the IPO!

    Questions:
If I remove the structural ridgeline (or adjust to make it longer), will that affect the overall integrity of the hammock?
Put another way, will this stress the sewn lines, stress the zippers, or compromise the safety?

You'll have to post as soon as yours arrives and have had a chance to test it out. You'll realize why I couldn't wait!

After futher evaluation, and I hate to answer my own thread, but I lengthened the ridgeline a wee bit and it made a world of difference for me.

I also forgot to mention that this thing is cavernous inside!
I almost need a map to get around once I'm zipped in.

I've never had a hammock that truly allowed for an asym lay. I have to say that it is VERY comfortable.

Maybe an 1" to 1.5" and it made all the difference in the world!
(I wasn't able to duplicate your knot...so I might be in a bit of a pickle in that respect. My "knot" came loose a bit.)

What kind of knot are you using on the ridgeline?

    it's just an overhand loop.

the rl distance is related to the net length, i chose the rl length and then designed the net to be that long. did is distort the net, stretching it lengthwise? it would be purely cosemetic unless you made it longer than the net was able to stretch of course. i'd think that much longer would have caused it to stretch/distort some?

I think the adjustment was too little to cause any stretching of the no-seeum netting. I certainly didn't notice any but will examine it more closely in the morning.

I've been too busy getting in some quality time with the hammock to notice!

i think what would happen would be the netting wouldn't drape sharply and smoothly over the rl. most of the difference would be just up along the rl, netting "downhill" from the rl wouldn't be effected much.

I definitely didn't notice anything like that.

Can the sag of the BB be adjusted or is that the same for each one you make?

    they're all the same, 101" on a 120" hammock.
