    Snow Day

We finally had a decent winter storm roll through Southern Ontario this morning, it dropped about a foot of the white stuff, closed schools and caused cancellations region wide. I work in the Mobile communications/software industry so I don’t get “Snow Days” anymore; I have half a dozen ways to work from anywhere…24/7! I “worked from home” till about noon when I finally looking out the window for the hundredth time and snapped! How can we say all this technology improves our lives if it deprives us of something as magical as Snow Days? I grabbed my gear and was an hours hike into Laurel Creek by 1:30pm….I’m sure I’ll pay for this at some point but It was worth it IMO… here are some shots.

Love the set up... But surely you're holding out on us; those seem to be the 'hammock related' shots. I've seen some of your work and I want the good stuff!

Glad you got out there [o]TTER. Good to see the new tarp and winter recline in action.

Great shots as usual [o]TTeR! For me the Snow day consisted. Of 2.5 hour drives to and from work !

Mobile communication technology is sometimes a curse and sometimes it is a blessing. Great shots [o]TTeR.

My snow day was spent clearing out the driveway multiple times. One can hope that Algonquin Park got this dumping of snow for the winter hang next weekend.

    Cheers

I’ll bet it was a rough day in your line of work my friend? Hopefully you can get out on your MSRs before the melting begins. We got 16” (40cm) in Waterloo.

It was an odd one today, by the time I found the right spot and setup I was a little burned out. I figured I’d sit for a couple of minutes before thoroughly documenting the scenery….I was a good 20 min nap! The scenery did not get me full attention but I have some more shots, will post on my flickr stream tomorrow.

I used a new, revised version of the first Recliner today. It’s only chair length at 5.5’ and I added an extra baffle to the quilt so it matches the dimensions of an average 3/4 length UQ, it worked out well

Depending on how long your drive usually is, it may have been faster of Snowshoes?
