Can anyone tell me what the rr poles weigh?

    Hey everyone

I am trying to minimalize my gear. Can someone tell me what the actual weight is of the spreader bars? I'm thinking about getting a set of hiking poles to double use as spreader bars. Just curious how much weight I can plan to shed? I've seen the poles recommended and will probably go that route. I just don't have a way to weigh something in oz or grams. Thanks.

9.8 oz is what mine weigh,,,take the 4 inch extension out of the head spreader bar, and you have an even 9.0 oz. I use the hiking poles,,mountainsmith,,,for spreader bars as well.

+1 on just shy of 10 ounces.

If I carry the RR, I actually prefer to bring the stock spreader bars so that I can use the trekking poles to prop up my tarp. If I'm trying to go light, I'll go to a gathered end like the Darien UL.

When I get thru my hectic work schedule, my pack weight will end up at 12lbs not counting food and water. I am packing the RR to lay in a few times just because its so darned comfy and can't wait to use it on trippin. If its a lengthly trip of 30 plus miles will drop back to my M90MR gathered end hammock. Then again, considering a no net RR and my DIY bug net if needed....Decisions! Decisions! Then again,,with the wife packing 9lbs,,I could pawn off a couple of pounds on her and carry the RR.

Lose 1/2 pound from your load...

    This....

I like to nap in my hammock after a long day hike using the poles to hang the tarp in porch mode.

I figure if I want to lose the weight of the poles (about 1/2 pound) from my load, I just won't supersize my fast food order while driving to the trailhead....
