Not a wbbb, but a gathered end. I have continiuos loops on the ends, black for the foot, yellow for the head. I have whoopie hooks, and the slings to match the loops......RR

For my first attempt at a solution, I'm going with jDBushcrafts idea about the nail polish. My test worked well, and it will give me a way to involve my daughter in this (she can pick the color).

I leave the head-end carabiner and about 6" of the strap outside the double ended stuff sack and clip the 'biner back onto the cinch-cord.

I got some whoopies from Dutchware, when they arrived one was green and the other black. I thought it was a bit strange but then figured out it was so you would know which end was which just by looking at the whoopies.

I used two different colored beads on my whoopies. One marks the head, the other the foot.

On my head end strap, I use glow in the dark nail polish painted around the edge of a dutch clip. Easy to see in the light or in the dark.

I'd love to see some powder coated dutch clips.

I use different colored whoops on the ends, (blue for head, orange for foot). On my double sided stuff sacks I put a colored zip tie on the foot end and trim it, (like a bead) so it's easy to tell by just looking at it and can be felt when setting up in the dark..

My solution was as simple as my old noggin could come up with. On my DIY Jerry5 ... I made a double end bag ... on the head end I put a "round" cord lock ... on the foot end ... a regular rectangular cord lock. Since my head is round ... well ... you get it. Of course a different color string would have done the same ... I just happened to have the round cord locks in my gear box!

On my WBBB I replaced the black drawstring cord on the bishop bag with orange spectra cord. On another one I tied an extra knot in the drawstring. On my TTT Switchback it doesn't really matter.
