    Hello from Stuarts Draft, VA!

Hello everyone. Berkeley Harner here... By day I am a high school band/choir director. I also make instruments on the side - custom dulcimers, ukuleles, drums, etc... I am actually working on a travel sized instrument to work with the whole hammock camping situation. Anyway.....

I am new to the hammock camping, however, I have camped pretty much every other way possible. I am a former Eagle scout from many years ago, so a lot of the terminology and techniques I am very familiar with. I am mainly jumping into this because I really miss camping and to meet some really great people. I have spoken to a couple of you already either on here or over the phone and it has been really awesome.

I hope to meet more of you and hopefully hang with you sometime soon. I am in the process of getting my first ride and then the infection will start with me!

    Talk to you all soon!

Welcome from NoVa. I grew up in Waynesboro.Folks are still there. Love the Valley. I'll be interested to see what Yo! Come up with for your travelling instrument, for my son though. He's got the talent not me. But I do love the hammer dulcimer sound.

No problem. I already have a stick dulcimer that I use. It is very light and full scale length. However I think I am going to build one the same way but then put a concert uke scale length on it so it will only be about a foot long instead of almost three feet long. I'll post it when I get the project underway.
