Are there any musicians or pseudo musicians in the forum that take an instrument with them when they go hanging? I would be interested in seeing what types of instruments are taken with you.

This is my usual axe but I think I am going to build a shorter version of this instrument so that it is only about a foot long. The instrument is already really light so making it a much shorter scale length will be even better. Click the image to make it bigger.
Mandolin is my muse but I never bring it camping. The music of the piney woods is enough for me.
I backpack and just want to eat and sit and stare at days end.

Brass musician with 17 years marching with Drum and Bugle Corps (DCI and DCA). I now sit on the board to form another one and will be doing brass instruction for the hornline this summer.
I don't think you want to set up anywhere around me. It's best I leave the horns home.
