Just curious to see if folks here have a good list of places to hang in VA. I am trying to compile a list of possible spots to visit and so far it isn't very long (other than the AT):
- Chopawamsic Backcountry Area of Prince William Forrest (http://www.nps.gov/prwi/planyourvisi...trycamping.htm)
- Bell Isle State Part (http://www.dcr.virginia.gov/state_parks/bel.shtml) - there are 4 primitive sites not listed on their site. I am waiting for confirmation that hammock camping is ok but the location on the river beautiful.
I am sure that there are more so just looking for some ideas of places that are scenic and ideally not over run.
