    Cool Cozy with Cool Helper

I finally got around to making a cozy for my 12 cm Imusa pot. It was an easy project. I bought a windshield sunscreen for $8 and I have enough left over to make about 8 more cozies. That scale says 172 grams or 6.1 ounces for the pot, the lid and the cozy. That's essentially the weight of a Snow Peak 900 Titanium pot BUT I have a cozy and I saved about $50

I couldn't have done it without grandpa's little helper. Trail name "Kid Flash" because whenever we hike as a group she keeps up with me at the front.

I really like that it extends above the top of the pot - makes it a good thing for the lid, I would imagine.
I used to be a somebody, now I just camp.

Yeah I totally planned that. It wasn't a measuring mistake at all.

Tell me about the handle wrap. What is it, and does it keep the handle from getting hot?

I bought 2 3' lengths of fiberglass wick from MiniBullDesigns. One length 3' longs is just enough to wrap the handle once. I did 2 layers. I whip finished the wick and then super glued the ends. It's not enough insulation to pick it up directly from the stove (and certainly not when using a Bush Buddy where the flames are larger and closer). You still need a bandana as a pot grabber to get it off of the stove. But within a minute or so it's cool enough to hold by the handle.

Nicely done. The wrapping on the handle really makes the job.
