We got a foot of snow...

a couple of days ago. This was our view when we woke up:

And this is was the rest of the day.

Rest assured that we too have to suffer through some white stuff, in fact I nearly got burned walking on the sand to get to the water this morning.

But seriously this campground is the cats meow. Our site is about 20 yards from the beach and we get to fall asleep to the sound of the waves crashing. This is the best hammock experience ever!

Looks like you are having a great time. Did you ride bikes back down from the top of Haleakala after seeing the sun rise? That is a really fun thing to do too.
Keep movin', keep believing and enjoy the journey!

We did last time we were here. Highly recommended activity. We've driven around the west side and been snorkeling every day.

I can't wait to get up to Haleakala again in a few days though.

This is a cool shot I took this morning.

We're camping at camp Olowalu about 6 miles or so south of Lahaina. It's $15 ppn and to be honest I would easily pay more. It's a few steps from the beach, showers (no hot water but it's about the same temp as the ocean which is almost perfect), Porto-potties, super quiet considering how full it was on the weekend, in fact they threw someone out for being loud and drunk...I never heard them at all. Temp has been perfect the entire time in the low 80's with a wonderful breeze.

Snorkeling right off our beach although you have to swim out a bit to get to the good stuff.

This is the view towards the parking lot, away from the water.

Sunset in Kihei, it pretty much looks like this every day.

Finally had to put the tarp over the hammock last night after I woke up to a little sprinkle. First rain that we've seen since getting here. Night time temps are around 70, glad I brought the Phoenix. I actually pulled out the TQ last night, my watch hanging off the ridgeline never dropped below 22c but after getting a little too much sun I was chilled.
