Hello from SC

Hi everyone. I have been lurking around the site for awhile now, so I guess it is time for me to introduce myself.

My name is Matt and I am addicted to Hammocks, I have been in love with the idea of hammock camping since I first read about it back in 2005. However, for whatever reason I am just now getting in to it (biggest reason being I am cheap and my wife is cheaper lol). So here I am and I am learning tons thanks to this forum.

I am heading out on my first hang on the 13th for a one night solo to my local woods here in Sumter SC. This is mainly to do a shake down of my new equipment. After that I am going on a 3 day two night float in KY with my brother in law down the Green River the following weekend.

Really loving the wealth of information here and have to say I discovered this place while looking for more info on different Hammocks out there. I ended up with a HH. Also, stumbled across Shugemery's youtube channel and have been hooked.

I can't really offer any kind of help what so ever on Hammocks but I hope to be an active member in the years to come.

Thanks everyone for the greetings. I am really interested in the hangs you guys have going on. My wife is not in to anything outdoors so my trips will be by myself or maybe with a friend if I can talk them into going lol. I guess this is why I really wanted a Hammock so I can haul it around in a backpack for my mountain treks this summer.

I will have to look at my work schedule and see about making the March Hang. It would be cool to see the set up everyone has and also get out and enjoy some Hang time.

Gresh I may take you up on that offer if I run into anything I am curious about. I am just anxious to get out and sleep in this thing for the first time. After my first night out I am sure I will have some type of question.

I'm in the same boat you're in as far as the wife not being interested.

As far as testing goes, make sure you test somewhere close to home or somewhere similar, in case you have a bail-out situation and can't make it all night.
