First, HOLY CRAP you are huge for a 13 year old. 6'2 and 200. Wow.

    Moving on...

I started with an ENO and still have it. It is incredibly comfortable. I take it car camping with me when weight won't be an issue.
I solemnly swear that I am up to no good...

As a beginner to the hang lifestyle, this thread has been very informative! Congrats on the ENO!

Thanks pace! I'm glad I could help out another newbie.
Also granny, I would go but I don't have anyone that would stay the weekend with me so I don't think I can go unless I could find someone to stick with for the weekend. Thanks for replying everyone! The hammock should be here Thursday/Friday so I'll give an update then.

If you guys are looking for an DIY underquilt and want an easy and cheap project, here is a gread thread. It uses 2 $14 (on end of season sale) JC Penny puffer jackets. you can make it a quick and easy project or get a little crazy (like mine) and go all out. fun project non the less. :-)

That's pretty cool Honey. What is the reason for an underquilt if you have a sleeping bag? Do you still need one if you have a sleeping bag?

You will need either a pad or an underquilt. For starters, a blue pad from wally world is the cheapest, lightest option. What have you been using as a ground pad on your campouts in the past?

Your body compresses the insulation under you, making it ineffective. You gotta have something, pad or quilt.

+1 on this, they have really great information, and Shug's as entertaining as they come. In fact, watch all of Shug's videos, they're all great!
