Hammock Noob Needing Help

I like all these.......the ones I own)))))
So many hammocks to choose from though.
Decide if you want bug-net or not attached to hammock. Length and weight come into play for many. Some are into the different fabric choices available now. Single layer or double layer?
For some it is the color.
Made in USA important?

I second Bias as well. They are very comfortable, light, and good entry price. Worth a look IMHO. I have several but have been going out with my Bias WW more and more often.

You just need a suspension kit for the hammock and decide if you want double layer or not. Whoopie Hooks are cool titanium hooks from Dutch that usually go on the whoopie sling's adjustable loop. Hook it onto the continuous loop at the end of your hammock: voila!, you're hanging. It also acts as a drip string. I've converted all my hammocks to Whoopie Hooks. A double layer is a second layer of material on the bottom of the hammock. It has an opening so you can insert a pad, which is MUCH cheaper than an underquilt. For temps. below 70 degrees you are going to need something for warmth underneath you. The double layer also gives you additional weight capacity.

BIAS also has a suspension kit on sale for $25. Whoopie slings, toggles and tree straps, so you could hang using a marlin spike hitch.

You wouldn't need toggles or carabiners with Whoopie Hooks.

Double Layer (outside*): Maroon
(Not sure what this is) Knotty Mod: None
Suspension Kit: 100-inch straps, toggles (Not sure what this is) and whoopies (I assume this is the whoopie straps
Carabiner Upgrade: None
Whoopie Hooks: Dutchware titanium whoopie hooks
Ridgeline: Standard 9 foot
Bug net: None

I'm personally partial to adjustable ridgelines, but the 9 ft fixed works as well.
