    stand? maybe?

im ready to build a stand... I think.

im in a basement appt. and the concrete floors are very slick, and the walls are cinder blocks, (hollow ones) and the ceiling is the floor above, with floor joist, but also have piping from a heater all over the ceiling. so i think i need a stand, and want to get two hammocks in here.

any ideas? the room is apx. 11 ft x 11 ft. with the ceiling of 7.5 ft to the joist.
Can i get two stands in here? and what should i do for the slickness of the floor?

Is there no way to hang from the joists?

Maybe a pic of the area would get the brains around here percolating on a solution.

Depending on the length of your hammock, maybe. If you have a shorter hammock, a TD stand may fit. Mine wouldn't. But it was built to be able to use a tarp with it.

As for the slick floors, I have a length of zing-it going around my stand, a leg spread limiter. I drilled a very small hole through the legs, just enough to get the zing-it though, and then sliced the ends together. I use mine outside, and probably don't need it......RR

This has already been mentioned but I would just use some lightweight cord (I use paracord) around the legs near the bottom to keep the legs from spreading. I use my stand in my basement on concrete and the stands don't move around the basement at all.
