    Hi there, mbiraman,

It’s great to see you out enjoying your backyard and on a nice, sunny day! I’m imagining that you just strolled/snowshoed to that camp site from your house. You live near some of the greatest of the great outdoors. I bet that water tastes top shelf too, it looks really clean and pure anyway. Thanks for the trip report, mbiraman, and I hope you get more nice, sunny days and get to go out again real soon!

Backyard? Where can I get one of those that's so scenic and oh so close to home? I was thinking that you were out on some expedition to a remote trailhead in the wilds of Canada. It made for some nice escape reading while at work.....Ah, spring will be here soon, I hope

I literally stepped off the deck of my place , put my snowshoes on and headed down to the river. Around here most of the back country, which is behind my property, is snowed in during winter unless you have a snowmobile for access. I have 3 or 4 areas to go close to me in my little valley where i spend winter trips. Most of the weather here in winter is overcast, no sun. Pics tend to look washed out so don't post as much in winter.

Well now if i remember correctly you have an upper peninsula that is remote in winter no??. I don't know about close to your home tho. I made a decision years ago to live in the country rather than visit. Spring will be here in 4-6 weeks give or take a month.

Beautiful photos & country! I'm not really a cold weather person ( true southerner) but I do love an occasional dusting of snow!

I grew up with 4 seasons so i really like it. I find as i get older the winters feel long.
