    Tri-Glides on Seatbelt Webbing

Has anyone tried using JRB Tri-Glides on Strapworks Polyester Seatbelt Webbing? I'd like to know if they actually work before swapping out the thicker polyester webbing I have for a more lightweight and adjustable option.

From what I read in the Strapworks Seatbelt thread (http://www.hammockforums.net/forum/s...lides+seatbelt) and the Tri-Glides thread (http://www.hammockforums.net/forum/s...lides+seatbelt), it has been speculated that they'd work; but I wonder if anyone's actullay tried it.

I'm thinking of changing to the set-up described by gibmo here (and if this doesn't post right, it's on page 5 of the Tri-Glides thread): http://www.hammockforums.net/forum/s...2&postcount=48

I can not answer your direct question. However, at first glance I liked the attachment detail but further thought possibly shows a flaw with this details ease of setup. In order to "choke" the tree the strap would have to be removed from the hammock and the Tri-Glide if the Tri-Glide will not fit through the ring of the hammock. I am about to go dig out my hammock to find out.

The only other factor is the constant/concentrated wear at the end of the choke loop. Hope this helps.
    Edited:
The Tri-Glides do not fit through the rings of the JRB BMB but do not need to. Only the end of the stap would need to go through the ring and back to the Tri-Glide. My mistake.

So nobody's actually tried the Tri-Glides on seatbelt webbing? Well, based on one of the posts from the Tri-Glide thread, I'm going to guess they'll work. If the standard polyester Strapworks straps are too thick, then the thinner seatbelt straps may be just right. Now, if I can only figure out how to say the last sentence without sounding like Goldilocks, I'll have it made.

Well, I'll let y'all know if it works, if and when I place/get an order.

You do not need to undo the tri-glides if you use a biner on the tree end of the strap same as with a ring buckle system. I am waiting until spring before I try to convert my wife's bridge to the tri-glides
I may be slow... But I sure am gimpy.
