    Smile Hello from Scotland !

Have lots of camping experience with tents but decided to get myself a DD Travel hammock last year. Although I've only managed to go hammock camping a couple of times I love it! First time was last year in the summer and kayaked on Loch Lomond to a beautiful site. Second time was last weekend at Tayvallich. Had the best sleep. A bit of rain so had to set up the tarp for the first time!
Just discovered this site and looks like I'll spend quite a while browsing lots of useful tips and info. Many thanks to all

Thanks Shewie, had a look at your snowy CairnGorm pics just now. That's where I was intending to go last weekend but plans changed for a variety of reasons. Looks amazing so hopefully I'll get to hammock camp in the snow soon.

You should make another attempt to get up before the snow has gone, it's a great spot for hanging. I've only been introduced to the area in the last couple of years but have made the trip up whenever I can, so much so the canoe trips have been lacking lately.

Look forward to seeing your pics if you make it up

    Welcome to the forums, Yoxie!
I got in a fight one time with a really big guy, and he said, "I'm going to mop the floor with your face." I said, "You'll be sorry." He said, "Oh, yeah? Why?" I said, "Well, you won't be able to get into the corners very well."

post some pics of where you hike and camp.

I would love to go there someday!
