In case you need "whoopie beads"

I found these 6mm x 9mm beads that fit perfectly on 7/64 Amsteel. I had broken a whoopie bead and needed a replacement. Found these at JoAnn Fabric, but I'm not sure how to find them on their website. Here's the same item elsewhere for a description. These are white but they might stock other colors too.

Sorry if this has been posted before, I did a search and ton of threads came up, didn't have time to read 'em all

Yeah I was in Walmart looking for whoopie sling beads and found that all the beads labeled "Pony Beads" were a perfect fit for 7/64 Amsteel. And your link appears to shows all their Pony beads are the 6 X 9mm so I think they are all good.

I never use beads. Too many reports of them breaking and they are difficult to replace.

I just bury a short piece of amsteel to prevent pull through.

I have only broken one whoopie bead but I think the plastic they are made of is very fragile.

I like your idea of the bury to prevent pullthru, I'll have to try that sometime.

Here's the link to the beads on the Joann's Fabrics website: clickity

Thanks for posting. I couldn't find any beads with a big enough hole, so I just did a bury at the ends. But I would rather have a bead in the loop. These are just the ticket!

The whoopies I have didn't have beeds, so I added a jump ring from my jewelry making supplies. I figured it would work as well as a bead. Just open the ring with two pliers and put it where you want it.

I put glow in the dark beads I found at the scout shop on the ends of my tarp tie out lines. Makes it much easier to find the hammock on those pitch black nights.

I just tie a short piece of Zing-it or other string in a double fisherman's next to the bury so it won't pull through, and trim it short. Stylish, and won't break or anything.
