Attaching bug net to the hammock

Hello everyone- I am fairly new to the site. Looking for some guidance.....I am sure the information is out here, but I am having a hard time finding it. I will be getting a piece of taffeta from tableclothfactory.com. I am looking to sew the bug net directly to the hammock as to avoid as many "pieces" as possible. It will be a sewn channel. Is there a fairly simple way to do this?

May want to look at the DIY section and look at threads by Lost_Biker (my 11ft clone) and Papasmurf.

Attaching bug net to the hammock

Keep in mind that netting stretches a lot more than nylon. Use lots of pins!
The easiest say to sew a net to a channel end hammock is to cut the netting the same size as the hammock body and sew it into the hems except for one or two sides where the zipper(s) will go. Sew the zipper to the netting first.
You will need to see a patch of grosgrain along the crnterline of the netting, about 2' in from each end, with a loop for a tie-out. These will lift the netting from your face. Attach the tie-outs to the ends if your tarp.

See Tree to Trail Gear, Switchback hammock for an example of this construction method.

Best tutorial ever HC4U's got a great graphic on the netting. Follow the info, adjust for any math differences on your hammock.

Basically, you need to know your hammock's ridgeline length, and your hammocks total length.
RL will be the center measurement of your netting, with the outer edges of the netting equaling your total hammock length. + any seam allowances needed.
So, you'll end up with a diamond shaped net, or stagger the sides and you'll have an asym net.

Setup the hammock with the ridgeline attached, toss the material over project, pin it to the body, mark and cut away about 2" and hem on the zipper. Make sure the teeth are right side up. Mark a spot on each side of the body and net to match it up later.
