    Successful first hang

My soon to be 5 year old daughter had her first night in her new hammock last night. I set it up in the basement outside our bedroom on the Turtledog stand.
She passed out withing minutes, and even slept through 30 minutes of us going up and down the stairs cleaning up all the puke from her brother.
In the morning, our first knowledge of her being awake was hearing her upstairs yelling at her brothers. Or the dogs. I'm not sure which. She yells at all of them a lot (hence the nickname Ms. Bossypants). So, she managed to get out all by herself very quietly. I was expecting a lot of shouting.
Her older brother is having his second hang tonight, but his first in his own hammock, and all is well with him so far too.
This is looking good for this years camping trips.

Very nice, great to hear it's starting off well! Sleeping in the hammock in the house and then in the backyard is a key way to get the kiddos comfortable with doing it when camping. Great job so far!

No, just the flu. He was in his own bed. The middle son spent last night in his hammock. Went good except for a 3am freak out when he had to go to the bathroom but couldn't find the zipper. Completely forgot he just had to call for assistance and started crying instead.
Had no issues getting out on the morning though so I think it's all worked out now.

Love the fact you're getting them started early! I think it would be the coolest to happen upon a campsite or some patch of woods and see an entire family of hangers.

that's awesome! You could probably put all three kids in one hammock, your stand is that strong! (thanks again for the offer to lend it to me). Maybe I'll come across your family of hangers this summer, then I can post pics! : )

We've had two in the Explorer Deluxe, but now that they all have their own hammocks, I don't think they want to share.
I'm hoping to start off the family camping season in May again this year. I'll let you know when we're heading out.
