    Home and ready to hang.

    Hi everyone,

Hello from a little town called Finleyville, near Washington PA. I'm new to the forum and new to the hammock experience. I'm back home after 8 months overseas serving time in the military. During my time I was involved in an incident and making a long story short, I lost my right leg ( please no sorries, I've come to terms with my loss and its ok). I'll be fitted with my prosthetic over the next few months along with my daily regimen of PT. My physical therapist is the one that suggested a hammock may be more comfortable as a means of relaxation and to provide me a better nights sleep.

So here I am. I'll be asking a lot of questions along the way and searching around for tips and expert opinions. I have a few big boxes close to me and have tried a Eno Double Nest. It was nice, but the more I read about DIY, the more I want to make my own. ( so far I'm set on an 11' 1.1 ripstop double layer with whoopie slings and I've read some great reports on Dutch gear, so I will be looking into his stuff as well). Hope to get a chance to talk to you all real soon. Peace.

Welcome Sandstorm! Thanks for your service brother. This is a great place for learning. I deal with a disability myself but not on the scale of your own. There are solutions to everything. If you need anything just ask

Welcome. I'm fairly new here myself, and have found everyone here on HF so friendly and helpful. Just ask away, there's nothing but friends here.
