Nice trip log. Thanks for sharing it.
I'm an igloo camper and I thought I'd share a trick with you to keep your water bottles from freezing overnight. If you take your Nalgene bottle of WARM water and drop it into the snow (upside down) and bury it, the insulating property of the snow will keep your water from freezing except on the very coldest nights. Remember to drop it in upside down however, so that if it does partially freeze, you'll still be able to drink from it (water freezes from the top down).

Thanks for the tip. That should work very well. I do not have much experience of sleeping outside in winter except for the army, and then it was always in a tent that was heated either by a wood stove or an Optimus 111 going full blast. We where thought to keep our canteen in the sleeping bag....

But anyway, that heated Nalgen bottle. Not sure if It's safe to drink that water, but since itæ's still luke warm in the morning it's nice to use to give th e face a rinse, and clean hands witrh before eating :-)

Just get out there. And now that we have the light back and the ice fishing season is kicking off full time, there really is no excuse. look for a hammock by Møkkelandsvannet or Gunnarvannet and it's likely to be me :-)

I'll put the kettle on :-)

I'll send you a PM next time I go out with the hammock. I do not know when. As I have a small kid + a couple of teenagers to keep from killing each other. So it may just be somehwere around here in Medkila, where I can put on the skis right outside my door and head into the forest a few hundred meters and set up camp like I did in the video. hat way I can get home in 5 minutes if the wife blows a gasket dealing with the kids

But I hope to go on an over nighter with some fishing as well.
