    Skeeter Beeter Ridgeline

Anyone have any suggestion for adding a ridgeline to a skeeter beeter? I just got it and the bug net is sown all the way around the edge and the suspension is on the outside of the bugnet. I hate to start making holes in my brand new hammock, but I figured if I do I better consult the experts first.

Captain Smiley did this with his. I think he cut a hole, but I'm not 100% certain. Maybe send him a PM and find out?

I have the GTSBPro and I think I am going to make use of my tarp ridgeline and a couple of long prussicks from that to the tabs of the Skeeter. I can adjust the hammock close enough without the ridgeline itself, I just want the netting off my face. 2 1' long arrow shafts in the tabs may work. Planning stage only so far though.

+1 Did this for my father-in-law... worked like a charm. You can even use sticks in the loops and balance them across the ridgeline to help take up the excess netting. (But beware of son-in-laws that will wait for it to be perfectly balanced before bumping it! Never gets old...)

My son-in-law put a ridge line and added the JC Penny puffer underquill on my hammock. We survived a night which hit about 16 degrees plus or minus 2 degrees on top of Indian Staircase, Red River Gorge. I was very warm and the ridge line worked great.

I did this to my switchback but pretty much the same thing. Look at my pics on the second page. The hole for the ridgeline needs to be the distance of the netting to the edge of the hammock as not to not stress the netting. You will see the webbing sewed on with a hole burned into it with the ridgeline running through it. You have to do that! https://www.hammockforums.net/forum/...ad.php?t=51679
