Has anyone ever tried adding a pocket for inserting a foot pad? This would help hold the pad in place but not require the a complete second layer.

I have a footpad pocket in the footbox of my DIY JCP puffer TQ.
I put foot pad pockets in my top quilts. Also my right-angle hammock has down insulation for torso and a pocket for a pad under my legs. I don't use separate underquilts much, but I believe a 3/4 length UQ makes sense because a pad works better at resisting heel pressure. An angled pocket for a foot/leg pad might be a good idea, holding the pad in the correct place for an asym lie.
Now I'm just trying to visualize how to place a pocket on a Table cloth hammock. And exactly what best shape for pad would be.
I use a Sleeping bag as Top Quilt so adding a pocket to it seems more difficult.
But yes my heels are always my coldest part.
