    Hennessy dimension's

First post and already asking questions I've noticed a difference between the HH website dimensions and don't seem to follow
The hammock dimensions are 110"x66" yet the fabric dimensions are 131"x60" I only ask because I may be considering a diy hennessy but as yet can't find a site with detailed enough specs, I have also tried searching the patents online but have been unsuccessful can anyone help???.

110 X 66 is the size of the hammock finshed and hanging according to spec. 131 x 60 is the size of the fabric that you start with.

Appreciated I now take it the extra length comes from the asym shape(tie out to tie out).

The ridge length is 110 or there abouts depending on the model. If you were to measure around the underbelly of the hammock it would be longer than that but shorter than the 131. (the loss being from the whipping at both ends.) The hammock body itself is a simply rectangle. There are directions on the forum for making an asym clone. I think Headchange wrote them up. They are supposed to be very good. In the HH the asym is more the bug net than the hammock body.

Am I reading this wrong? How do you get a 66" wide hammock with 60" wide material.

Dutch I took the figures offered in the original post. But I would suggest to you it has to do with the way the bugnet moves the body of the hammock to a natural diagonal position. The diagonal being longer than the width. I think...

Thanks to all, I intend trying out a rough model in low cost material before investing. What do you think of a sealed double walled base hammock (like a permanent undercover) filling to be 200wgt thinsulate and still keeping the bottom entry also replace the bottom half of netting with solid cover. Other options still a work in progress.

You have gone beyond the boundaries of my experience so I will leave any response to someone else. Just didn't want to not respond and seem like I was ignoring the post.
