Maybe I can rig up a good spot in the woods for a bunch of hammocks and host a hang. Or plan a trip around here sometime. Plenty of trails with in 30 minutes of me to hike or camp.

I wish you all the best and safe trip.
Real sorry about the car and especially you not making it to the hang, le butters. Darn.

Looks like we definitely will have water in the creek beds as weathermen are showing chances of rain next Mon-thurs, so get it all over for a great hang coming up next weekend. Word is out they are finding a few small mushrooms (mostly greys) in the open, but not in the deep woods as of yet in southern Indiana.

I am putting a couple more red and white stripped tapes out today. They illuminate at night too with a flashlight. If you have trouble my phone won't work down there, so it's the second sign like this. And the valley is right above the R in the word Sycamore.

    Hoosier Hang 2013??

Well I found my way to the hoosier hang location and got to meet Jerry as he was on his way out and got o meet and chat with Mule, he was full of knowledge and advise which I am very thankful for. Today was the first time I have done any hiking since I was in grade school. I wore the wrong shoes and came home and both of my feet were blistered and bloody, today was great learning experience, I learned I have a lot of work to do as far as reducing the weight of my pack and chose different foot ware which I found out the hard way, all and all a good day and a learning experience, just hope my feet heal by Friday.

If nothing else, wear a pair of walking tennis type shoes, and a pair of smart wool socks, and keep some mole skin with you in your pack. And, see if there is a way to lighten your pack. One thing you don't have to carry is water other than what you might want to drink on the trail, which for me, would be no more than a 20oz gator aid bottle. there is plenty of water there and there will be a lot of filters of other hikers there can you can use or borrow. I will definitely be there Sat nite and you can use my water filter if you want.
