The BRT is not my favorite place. It is plenty pretty, but a little too crowded for me. Not the wilderness experience we get when we get off the trail in the HNF. I have a buddy who loves it up there though and he sneaks out and stealth camps there. I am not sure where camping is allowed. Probably no water except the river.
Predictions are risky, especially when it comes to the future.
We have encountered only about 5 or 6 humans total on our 5 differant outings . The odd hiker or squirrel hunter . It is fine to camp there as far as legality goes . No stealth necessary . The campsight is $10 a night no matter how many campers . I use the word campsight loosely because all it is , is a fire ring .
Tree's for hanging abound .
No people to speak of because we don't camp there in the summer .
Water in Salamonie ofcourse , and people have filtered it in the past , but it's definitely cloudy .
I do know of a secret pond that appears spring fed and is not on any map .
Most guys hump their water in .
As I said we go there when others don't .
Brother Hanikwa
Oh yeah .... the map .
Here

(Takes a minute to load . I always hit the percentage magnification to 50% and then it seems to show up )
is a map of the Bloodroot trail complete . On this map find the symbol for North ( triangle looking arrowhead jobby ) . Now follow the fletching down in a southeast direction . Draw an imaginary line to the loop on the trail that comes down to meet the water (second loop from the east end of the trail ) thats the campsight .
clear as mud ... right .
Other stuff we do

Looks like a good time.

Me plus 1 are in for the BRT fall outing.
Directionally challenged...comicly so.
Not all who wonder are lost...But I'm probably just lost.
That should make from 5 to 10 fellows so glad you can make it . Here is an old map I made .
I believe the coordinates of the parking lot are 40 degrees 45.01 minutes .48 secnds North by 85 degrees 35 .06 minutes .12 seconds . You might want to check that with googel earth you modern fellows .
Salamonie Lake Indiana . Showing exact campsight and Warren exit 78 on I 69
Red = non interstate automobile .
Blue = foot power to campsight
Green = boat to campsight
Parking lot
Follow red path to small lot for foot traffic parking .
Do not take the last left but go straight down 700 W to boat ramp and boat ramp parking if you elect to come by boat .
Have we started planning the HW hang yet?
