    Hello from Cajun Country

I am from south central Louisiana and have been lurking here at HF ever since attending the University of Scouting one weekend about a month ago. I attended a class on hammock camping and fell in love with the idea. I haven't actually hung yet but I am waiting on my WBBB which should arrive any day now. I am an assistant scout master for my son's scout troop and we have an outing this weekend where I am going to try the new hammock if it gets here in time.

I love this site and am impressed with all of the information that is readly volunteered here.

Welcome to higher form of living

I like the name - I'm guessing you will be at "The Summit" during the summer? My #2 son says I can't go. I would interfere with his Scouting adventure. I disagree, I would lay back in my hammock and just chill out....

Welcome to HF from Georgia! Nice choice on your hammock. Don't forget your pad....could be chilly this weekend.
Everyone ought to believe in something....I believe I'll go set up the hammock!

Yes, my son will be attending the jambo at Bechtel Summit this summer. I will also be attending as a staff member, session 3, asigned to retail (trading post). I was originally accepted to attend as a leader with our local council but couldn't get the time off from work, so I signed up to volunteer in a staff role for 1 week. He was bummed when he found out I wouldn't be there as a leader. We both can't wait to go. It will be a trip of a lifetime for both of us.

I am waiting on my new WBBB to arrive tomorrow! We are participating in a Klondike Derby this weekend so I will get a chance to hang in the new hammock. It will be a rainy weekend so the gear and I will be put to the test.

I don't think we will be able to hammock camp at the jamboree, it looks like the basecamps are cleared out with no trees to hang from. That is a little disapointing but excited none the less.
