Definitely going to miss you out there, Tony!!! I always look forward to getting together with you!

I'm all packed out. Waited til last night to get it done, and spent pretty much the entire evening searching for gear.

Overpacked as always. I'm thinking we should have a contest for heaviest packout...I've got to be the winner!

My money is that I will have you beat Owl. This will be the first time I'm packing the Argon 85! Also pondering what is necessary or not. Now let's seeeee. . . Where do I want to lash on the satallite dish and the cappuccino maker?

You might have me beat at that. I had to drop several items I wanted to bring, since they wouldn't fit into my Kestrel 65. My issue was more bulk than weight, unfortunately.

Using skins on the hammock and tarp both, seperately, causes them to suck up a lot of pack space.

I've also got my civie sleeping bag in the pack, rather than strapped outside.

I AM bringing a chair, and the camera and tripod again. LOL!

Yeah, I ran over to Backwoods last night with Hoot to pick up a new bag and the chair we've been talking about to lighten the load a bit myself. Salesperson heard us mention we were hangers and started talking up the class you will be having out there. Most are enthusiastic in store about it from what we were hearing!

Enjoyed hanging with everyone! Good place to hike and and camp. Would be awesome in the winter, plenty of places along the trail providing they allow that.

Thoroughly enjoyed hiking and hanging with you guys!

I came out of there with a couple of thoughts.

First off...Permethrin ROCKS!! I had some worries about ticks since I'd not had a chance to re-treat my gear with Permethrin since last season. No worries...since I don't wear/wash my gear except for when I actually go out, apparently it was still active in my pants/overshirt. I found one tick crawling on my bare arm once out there...and not a single tick attached or on me/my gear when I got back.

Second...I've gone through my gear list once already, looking at what I didn't use while out there. I can't drop much. A couple of fixed blade knives, a smaller/lighter option for clearing ground around my hammock...I think the only hope for reducing weight on my stuff is going to be somehow finding a way to go to down UQ/TQ, which I just can't afford right now. I may also look into a smaller/lighter water filter for when I go out without my family, and stick with alcohol stoves over the pocket rocket I used this run.

Third...I really like the 'core group' of mid-west hangers we got here.

I definitely look forward to some more hangs with y'all!
