Amen to this. Skins really help. When ready to deploy, my zing it just falls into place, seldom tangled. When I have lots of time, I will figure 8 across my thumb and little finger. Works well.

I tend to hank but have found that skins do help a great deal.

    Check out dejoha's site -http://theultimatehang.com/category/howto/rig-a-tarp/

Figure eight video demo. Simple, fast! Figure eights rock. Throwing them out to uncoil makes me happy in that fiddly, geeky, perfect solution kind of way that makes me suited well to hanging.

I've only deployed my new Darth Hanger Snakeskins twice now, but it is true, my Zing-it comes out the same way it went in, very smooth.

Nothing new that the other folks havent said, but I did get to say "Darth Hanger Snakeskins"!

Good cord (spyderline) and I also figure-8 hank it.

For some reason this thread made me think of this:

if none of this appeals to you I have used old hotel key cards as winders just cut a "v" in either end

    That's a great tip.

I know that our own Raul "Water Monkey" Perez has a scene in one of his videos where he figure 8's his tarp lines in a way I haven't seen before. It looked really clean. I'll see if I can find that video and post it here.

I use zing-it with line locks. Grab a corner, toss the lines into it, and start rolling. If a line falls out, just toss it back in, slide the skin over, repeat for the other end. When setting up, slide the skins off and everything just drops. If the lines do get tangled, a quick pull and they come apart easy.......RR

Hanking plus using Z-line which is somewhat stiff.

Hank each line and stuff it into a small "hennessy style" pouch. My Hennessy tarps already have the pouches and I added pouches to my Clark Hammock Tarp.

Tarp line tangling. What's your secret?

I use Speers no tangle line and a python tube. Works great. Sometimes I use the figure eight on the lines still, but mainly for storage and when I know I will be just leaving the tarp in the tube for a few days. I only deploy the tarp when necessary.
