    Newby here

Right now I have the classic "backyard hammock". Love naps in it. But chilly when cool or even warm!

I am going to be doing more camping and my gear is 30 years old. New economy ... fewer luxuries, it seems.

    Yes, 29 again last week!!

So I am ready to refresh my "camping gear" and I want to hang ... after lurking here ...

I am ready to dive/climb in. I have one big concern ... How is "going to ground" when you are prepared to hang. My friends think that I am crazy and hammocks are for the outdoors at the cabin. I am usually on my motorcycle when I will want to hang for the night. Some times I end up in the desert or "high desert" ... not many tie offs.

So tell me about going to ground when you are set up to hang.

Hi and welcome from NC... It's easy to go to the ground if needed with my system and some others, just use hiking poles or sticks for the end supports. Take a look at what I have, you may get some ideas...
    Happy Hanging!

Welcome from SC. To go to ground you may want to have a pad handy.
