Amsteel grey 1/8"

Does the color of the rope have anything to do with the strength rating?

I seem to remember a thread talking about amsteel blue as if the color was significant. The rope I bought was grey and 12 strand with a claimed strength of 2100lbs.

Amsteel Blue is the name, it comes in colors.

These links from Sampson, the manufacturer, indicate the AmSteel Blue is stronger than the AmSteel?

amsteel blue does come in several colors: blue, grey red ect. it's the urethane coating that's colored. i think it origionally only came in blue, hence the name.
