question on suspension

so im tempted to upgrade to this type of suspension set up.(pictured)
Im just wondering what benefits there are to this setup, or maybe some drawbacks, ie ridgeline length, tree distance etc...
any feedback is good

I can't see anything wrong with it at all. Everyone has what they think works best for them. Light, strong, simple is what I look for in a setup. From the picture, I can't tell if it's a Whoopie Sling or UCR, but either way, it looks like a nice, functional setup.

There are many posts of ridgeline length. Most go with .83 of the length of the hammock. You'll have to find what works best for you. Tree distance is always an issue. Either too close or too far away. I go with 6" tree straps and 6" UCR's. So, I can hang between 2 trees with no problem at 25".

I use carabiners in place of the ring because 1) they give a place to clip my underquilt and other things, and 2) my suspension system is designed to be etremely flexible, and so, carabiners allow me easily to break it down and redeploy it.

My only issue with it is that the ridge line sits up too high off the hammock. Hard to reach anything if you have a ridge line storage bag or six, but I guess that you could make your bags to function at that height with a proper design.
