Do you still need the shoulder extensions when using a pad with a bridge hammock like the RR?
Thanks,

Well I'm definitely going the thinner route, my pad is too thick and feels odd inside the hammock. Going to try a foam pad and see how that feels. I'm thinking during the summer months I'm gonna leave the pad at home to stay cooler.
My wife and I used pads in our BB's until we could afford UQ's. While pads work, UQ's are much more comfortable to use.
I am still 18 but with 52 years of experience !
See a lot of mention about pads moving around. I've always used a bungie type strap (see pic) that hooks on the sleeping bag loops (two sets at about 1/3 increments) to hold my pad in place while tent camping. Wouldn't this also work for hammocking? My cold setup is a Big Agnes 20 degree bag with a sleeve that the pad slides in, but I would like to buy a lightweight pad for summer hanging in my 45 degree bag. Wouldn't the bungie straps work to hold the pad in place?

I use a thermarest with a chair kit on it. When I use it in the hammock I leave the chair kit poles in the sides.
What about adding grommets to this pad and running the sleeping bag straps (see above post and pic) through and under to hold it in place? Seems like that would work. Anyone using this Hennessy pad in their WBBB?

It a a Thermarest Trekker Lounge in a ENO DN. You would think it would slide all over the place but it really doesnt.
