You may need a shotgun to take down some of the mosquitoes in Florida.

Yes. Bring your bug net. If the overnight lows are going to be below freezing (and were the day before your trip), you will likely not need it...but I'd still bring an head net, just in case. Made that mistake once out at Rice Creek and paid for it with a sweaty night underneath my top quilt. And that was with lows in the mid-forties.
Also, MAD777? "Nothing dies here, except the people."? That's the funniest thing I've seen this year. And very apropos to the current influx of snowbirds to your metropolitan area this time of year.

Yes do bring it. There has been some reports of West Nile in FL as well so don't take any chances.

Permethrin is a must, a must.... There are currently 80 species of mosquitoes known to occur or have been identified from various collections in Florida.
LOL, however very true....
I live in Venice and like others have said, bring the net. They spray all the time but they are thick around here. Shoot me a message if you need any info on the area.
i live in central florida and went on a canoe trip today didnt think about it and didnt bring any bug spray or anything and this happened just trying to put my hammock up.
