Do you have any experience with the attachments for the old Singers i.e Zig -Zag, Buttonhole etc.? I know we don't really need them for gear making, but I thought they might be handy to have in some cases... I was just curious about their ease of use....

Ramblin Rev will have a better answer to this question. I have a bunch of attachments that came with the machine, but don't use them. I did buy a walking foot (not a Singer-made attachment, but it works nicely). My 15-91 doesn't do zig-zag. Occasionally it would be nice, but I can do without it.

I have very little knowledge of the attachments beyond what some of them are supposed to do. The button holer can be a pita to set up because everything has to be set manually. I don't know about a zig zag attachment. Then there are rufflers and pleaters and all sorts of other goo-gaws. One thing you will likely want is a zipper foot if you are palnning to use any zippers in a project.
I may be slow... But I sure am gimpy.

Thanks guys! I guess I'll just have to experiment.... If they don't work well I can always put them back on ebay...
